Brain or brawn?

I've come to the conclusion (and some of you will say, "Duh. No kidding?") that if a person uses his or her brain more then they don't have to engage in some of the physical labor involved in earning a living. After all, it's not the folks who can be on their feet the longest who run the show, is it? It's those who have creative ideas, innovative methods, and a mind for implementing their thoughts into action who actually pad their wallets the most.

This is why I'm eager to complete the next phase of my McDonald's education - Advanced Shift Management. It's another step up the ladder as far as I can tell. If I grow in this company, I'll learn skills valuable to several industries or even for operating my own company. Not only that, I'll be able to move out of the day-to-day grind of shoveling fries and taking food orders and into the management portion of the business, which is filled with responsibilities and accountability but doesn't include coming home with salty grease on my clothes.

So, I'll be hitting the books again, studying hard, and striving to be the best gosh-darned manager around.
