Days of Our Lives

I can remember a time when I was an avid fan of Days of Our Lives. The familiar "Like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives" spoken by the veteran actor Macdonald Carey kicked off my afternoons. If for some reason I wasn't going to be home while it was on, I'd videotape it. I didn't have a computer in those days, so I couldn't access anything nearly like Days of our Lives updates online. I don't even know if there was an "online" back then! I began watching this when I was a mere 18 years old and newly married. That's a lot of water under the bridge since I'm now 55!

But then, for nearly a year, we went without television. Ours broke and we just didn't replace it. That'll break a lot of TV habits! In fact, right now we don't have commercial television in the house because our antenna has gotten all funkified due to high winds. So I just watch movies.

As I was browsing through the update site, though, those familiar names and faces took me right back to the time when this show was part of my daily regimen. Roman, Marlena, Bo and Hope, and all the others were like old friends that I was seeing again after a very long time. Ok. Back to real life.

If you enjoy this soap, then do go visit the update site. I think you'll enjoy the posts there and if you miss an episode, you can stay caught up. They are doing a great job of keeping it done by 6 PM every day so you don't have to read old news about what's going on in Salem.
