Home day

I'm off work today and really enjoying my day at home. I fixed a nice, though late, lunch for us of barbecued chicken, home made biscuits, baked beans, and coleslaw. There is just a little bit left which one of us will have later tonight or for lunch tomorrow.

I remarked to Brandon that I really do like being home, cooking, and even cleaning to a certain extent. (I'm not the most meticulous house keeper on the planet, but I do like taking care of things here.) Of course, the only way to do this all the time, the way I used to, is to quit my job. But then, I couldn't pay the bills!

I just really miss being home, cooking from scratch, crafting, gardening, and goats. I sometimes feel like that part of my life will never return and I'll be stuck in this job forever.

I hear the Southern Bell talking here, and she's talking to me. I feel the same way today; the life I had with my Toddler just a few months ago is over for the foreseeable future while I'm trying to lay still and rest. My housekeeping and cooking is turned over to someone else, I'm relying on my family to understand and it seems to annoy me more that they don't have a problem with me not doing what I used to be able to do.

Someday you'll be able to do all those things again. I'm glad that you have people in your life who appreciate them. (And can you slip a few of those biscuits through the Net? Pretty please? I'm sure I can squeeze them into my diet...)
