Granny arrested at McDonald's
There's nothing like a police smackdown of a 75 year old grandmother at McDonald's. Thankfully, this didn't happen where I work, but according to Fox News, the woman was arrested, taken in, and even fingerprinted because she wouldn't pull her car forward when an officer asked her to.
The article doesn't state just where the lady was parked. Only that crew had asked her to wait for her coffee and fries. We've done the same thing when there are fresh fries cooking or fresh coffee brewing. But, we do ask that the customer pull forward to a designated spot to wait, so that customers behind them can get their food. Whether this woman went to the designated spot is not told in the news story, but I suspect that she either didn't pull forward to it, or she didn't go far enough to allow the customers behind her to get to the window. We've had that happen plenty of times.
In fact, we've had people flat out refuse to move forward. Now, I have to tell you, sitting at the window doesn't make fries cook faster. All it does is bog down the drive through traffic. Our solution, however, is not to call the police. Instead, we will simply walk the food out to customers behind them so everyone gets served when they're supposed to.
I really think taking this lady in and charging her with disorderly conduct is way over the top.

I don't think they called the police, I think he was the car behind her. From what I heard on the interview with her he was WAY out of line but then again, Pinellas County is know for their police issues and speed traps etc. He even handcuffed her with her hands behind her back!!!!

Thanks for the update on this. As a manager at McDonald's, I found this to be extreme, to say the least.
