Settling in to the house

We've been staying in the new-to-us house the past few nights. We still don't have everything moved in but we do have the bare essentials. We can shower, get ready for work, and make coffee. I'll be glad to have the rest of my things over here but until then, I'll make sure what is here is put away properly.

There's a small storage building out back I can use for some things. I figured I'd break down the boxes I am moving with and store them in there. That way, I don't have to run and fetch more boxes on the next move. I'll have exactly what I need already here. Also, there were a couple of quarts of varnish in the cabinet here, so those will go out to the storage building, too.

I'm not doing much decorating at the moment. I want some more of my things here first before I tackle that. But, I did pick up a Mother's Day bouquet at Walmart yesterday. It's daisies and yellow mini-roses. It's the perfect kind of flowers for this house, I think.

I bet it feels like a new start for you! (if you have the energy to feel it). I'm excited for you!

That's exactly what it feels like. But I've got some kind of bug and didn't have much energy for it today.

Ann, I'm glad to hear that you have a new place of your own. It must be wonderful to finally have a place to call your own after the past few months knowing you have to move, and then living with your co-worker. Congrats! I look forward to hear your "settling in" adventures!

Yes, Lizzy, it's great. This felt like home from the first moment I stepped in here.
