Spring glory

It's a beautiful day today. The sun is shining brightly in a cloudless sky. Warm breezes are blowing through the trees, forcing the dead leaves from the oaks to make way for the budding new ones. I've been in and out several times already, mostly hanging out laundry. I find hanging clothes out to be as good an excuse as any for getting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather.

My dog has, of course, gone through the door every time I have. She loves it outside on days like this, too, and can't seem to get enough of romping in the sunshine on the newly-sprouted grass.

Just down the hill I can see a dogwood tree in bloom, tempting me to go cut just a few small branches for an arrangement on the kitchen table. In fact, I think I'll do just that. It will be a refreshing sight in the house and much better than the tired silk arrangement I have in the vase right now.

Guess it's time to get my rubber boots on and trek down the hill!
