Graduation day
Many of the young people who work for us at McDonald's will be graduating in a couple of weeks. This year's graduating class is so large that they will use the auditorium of a local college for the ceremony. The high school auditorium simply isn't large enough!
This is also the last year these young folks will have proms to attend and other festivities. I've seen them come through in their prom gowns and tuxedos, looking very grown up but still acting like teens. They're cute when they're so dressed up yet still munching on a Big Mac and fries!
Some of these kids will go on to a local college and still work part time for us. Others will go away to college. We might only see them again on visits home. Their job at McDonald's has in some ways helped them to learn to stay on task until a project is completed, and it will also help some of them work their way through college. I'm glad to be a part of a company that encourages young people to learn and grow.
