Long work day again

Tuesday was a particularly long day at work again. I was scheduled to leave at 1 pm, but wound up being there until 4:30, having clocked in at 5:30 am.

This means that on another day in the pay period I'll probably need to leave early to avoid having overtime. While the overtime pay is nice, it's not good for our labor costs and too much of it means something at work must not be going right.

When I got home, I was tired but still felt like watering my small gardens. This has been an unusually cool and wet August for us here in the south, but since we live on a hill, the ground dries out pretty quickly. I try to water things about every other day when we don't get rain.

Things are staying green, as you can tell from the photos. I'm thinking of adding these pictures to the digital frame my grandkids gave me for Christmas last year. It's really interesting to watch the slide show presentation of the kids at various ages and I think I'd like to also see the gardens and plants on there when the weather gets cold.

I am happy that I've been able to trade some of the really early morning shifts with another manager who just loves them. Our supervisor has approved the switches. I prefer mid-shifts or later. I can either get things done before I go to work or still have time to accomplish some tasks after I get off, most days.
