Productive day off

While I was disappointed that I couldn't go to Mom's yesterday, at least I was productive. I had originally hoped to trade work days with someone so that I would be at work yesterday and be off Sunday. It didn't work out, though.

Since I was home all day anyway, I got all the laundry done. I also made a nice loaf of garlic herb bread, part of which I'll take with me to Mom's. Sis should be able to eat it, too, since there are no dyes in it, no herbs she's allergic to, and it's very low salt (1 tsp. in the whole loaf). I made it with canola oil, but it's only 1/4 cup in the whole loaf.

I also have a part of a loaf of oatmeal and honey bread to take with me. I had some of that for breakfast this morning with a cup of hot chocolate. It really hit the spot. Again, it's made in a way that Sis should be able to enjoy it. Plus, it has oats in it to boost the fiber content and wheat germ to boost the nutrition content.

I made a few macrame necklaces, too. Some of my co-workers have expressed an interest in buying them, so I wanted to have a variety of colors on hand when I go to collect my paycheck.

I tried rearranging my living room furniture, but wound up with it all being put right back in the original spots. The living room is small so there aren't many options for furniture arrangements. We've acquired two wingback chairs, though, and I like having them in here. They aren't big and bulky so they suit the room very well.

I'd like to have another sofa, too. One that's less bulky than the one I have now. A camel back would be perfect, but when and whether I'll get one is still up in the air.

I love doing macrame necklaces! I am so glad that you are getting to do some creative things! I bought a cardboard thing at a garage sale the other day that is for attaching the thread (or jute or whatever) to do the necklaces. I am going to do some soon. I am just getting really ready to do something creative besides work on this house! Glad you are on Facebook! Hope to see some pics on there.
