More tremors
Apparently, there was another earthquake at around 2 AM today. I didn't feel that one, but it was felt in town. My boss said it roused him out of a deep sleep and shook his house so hard he thought it might be destroyed. He grabbed his kids and headed for a strong doorway until the shaking stopped.
Geologists are calling these "swarms" because there are a lot of them but not one in particular is the main shock. This morning's early quake was listed at a 4.2 and those who felt it said it seemed to roll on for a time. They are always preceded by a sound like thunder, then the tremors.
A lady who works for us said it knocked some glassware off a shelf in her house and broke it. Those who live in mobile homes were truly afraid their homes would come off the block foundations.
I don't know what to make of all this. Our area has had earthquakes for many years, although they are usually too small to be felt. The more recent ones, however, are stronger and make everyone wonder if we are in for the "big one" soon.
