Chicken payoff

Having chickens is finally paying off. A few of them have started laying eggs. The quails have laid a few eggs, off and on, ever since we got them. However, it takes 4 or 5 quail eggs to equal one hen's egg. Yes, they're that small.

I figure the other hens will begin laying soon. Their combs are getting bigger and redder, which is a sign of maturity. Once they are all laying on a regular basis, I can begin sharing eggs with friends and family. This will also give me an opportunity to raise chicks that later will become dinners!
