Thanksgiving update
I spent a few days last week at Mom's. I was able to stay Monday through Thursday, but had to leave Thursday afternoon since I was scheduled to work early Friday morning. It would have been great to stay longer, though, and I always hate to leave.
We did have some storms and rain while I was there. This seems to be the time of the year for that here in Arkansas. Next, we are supposed to possibly get sleet tonight. I do not like that prediction.
Thanksgiving Day turned out to be a beautiful day, though. Chilly, but no precipitation. Mom, even though she's not fully herself yet, did all the slicing and dicing in preparation for the big meal. We began earlier in the week getting things prepped and pre-cooked. On Thanksgiving Day, the turkey was cooked, along with dressing and a few other items. Then, it was a simple matter to reheat pre-cooked foods, put some olives, pickles, and rolls on the table, and sit down to a delicious feast.
We preceded the feast by giving thanks to God for His many blessings in our lives. We do have much to be thankful for, not the least of which is the improvements Mom has shown after giving us such a scare a few weeks ago.
