Long long Monday

It’s been a long day for me.

First, I got up around 6:30 to gather up a bread order to take to the Big Town about 25 miles from where I live. (I also bagged up my work uniform since I didn’t intend to come home until after work tonight.) I had arranged to meet a lady there around 9 this morning for a fairly sizable bread order. It was well worth the drive. However, it was quite foggy when I left which meant driving slower into Town. Thankfully, the fog dissipated by the time I got to our meeting place.

After she got her bread and paid me, I went inside the grocery store where we met to check out some prices of things I use for bread making. I was disappointed that this store, which claims to offer deep discounts on grocery items, actually had much higher prices than the store in the town where I live. I did pick up a couple of things that I could use and which were priced at the same level as I’m used to, though.

Then, I headed to my company’s corporate office to sign up for direct deposit. I’m not keen on this idea, but they are going to that and paycheck debit cards, so I opted for the DD instead of the card. The card will charge me extra money to withdraw cash, so I really didn’t like that idea.

After buying gas for my vehicle at a lower price than it is in my hometown,I headed back to my town, where I indulged in breakfast where I work and visited some folks there for a bit. Then I headed to my regular grocery store to take advantage of flour that’s on sale for a few more days.

Afterwards, I went back to my workplace and contacted another bread buyer to let him know where I was. He’s also a friend of ours and wanted only a couple of loaves of bread. However, he works at the grocery store where I shop, so I told him if he’d pick up more flour for me there, I’d just trade him the bread he wanted for it. He agreed and we made the trade. It save me from having to go back later for that supply.

I clocked in around 1 PM, worked my shift, talked to a few people at work who are also wanting breads made for them, then headed home at 7 PM. By the time I got home, I was pretty well wiped out. I wound up getting myself a bowl of white bean soup and a cup of coffee for my supper. Then, I changed into my night clothes and headed to the computer, where I watched some online TV shows then drifted off to sleep.
