Sunday night news
I know whether I should recap the week or just the weekend, or just take it one day at a time since I was extremely busy over the weekend. I guess I’ll just recap the weekend and start fresh tomorrow.
I’ve had some good fortune selling bread, to the point where it’s consuming a lot of my time just keeping it made! That’s ok. I like bread making and I like to try new ways and recipes, too.
For instance, today I made a beautiful Fruit and Nut Braid that turned out just the way I imagined it would. (They don’t always do that.) I chopped some pecans and mixed them with craisins and raisins, then remembered that I have some lovely dates in the fridge, so I cut them up to go in the bread, too. Now, dates just aren’t that easy to cut or chop. They tend to stick to the knife blade, even though I sprayed it with pan coating. I was beginning to think a cigar cutter would work better for getting those sticky fruits ready for the bread.
I know you can buy chopped dates, but the whole ones are less expensive. Besides, I like snacking on them, too.
Anyway, I wound up making cinnamon bread, OMG cinnamon twirl bread, jalapeno cheese bread, pumpkin nut bread, banana nut bread, white bread, and the beautiful fruit and nut braid, shown pictured below.
