Saturday afternoon
I'm tired. I mean, I'm really tired.
My older daughter, Jennifer, came this morning. We worked in the bedroom till around 3 PM, sorting, tossing, putting away. A lot left this house. The kids' old toys and schoolwork. Stained or otherwise damaged clothing. You name it - if it didn't have a memory attached or a good, viable purpose, it left. She loaded it all into the back of her pickup truck. Who would have imagined we've been stuffing that much junk into the closet and around the room? It filled the whole pickup bed. And honestly, if we go through drawers and under the bed, there'll be more to get rid of.
See, we are trying to downsize and get the room in shape to accomodate Danny's needs in the coming weeks. If we can get a hospital bed set up in there it means taking the regular bed down. I'd thought we might put it in the living room, but the bedroom is right next to the bathroom so I really think it should be there, if it can be done. If not, then we'll move the living room back there and use this room for a bedroom.
All the sorting and tossing about wore me out, but I still have Danny to think of so I still need to keep going for awhile. He got up a bit ago, wet. I had a devil of a time convincing him to let me change his clothes. Finally got it done. He said he needed to go to the bathroom, so I got him in there where he did go - partly where he should have but partly on the floor an on himself. I'm having to wash his clothes before I can change him again. In the midst of all that, I figured out he doesn't know who I am.
Brandon has pajama bottoms for him for Christmas and it looks like we'll have to just give them to him now or I won't be able to keep up with the changings.
Danny has barely eaten today. Two or three bites of oatmeal. Two or three bites of tomato soup. He drank maybe 1/2 cup of grape juice, and about the same amount of water. I'll try to at least get some pudding or fruit sauce down him, but I don't know if he'll even eat that. I also need someone to stand watch for a little while so I can get some much needed rest.

Ann, Danny, might not know you at this moment but Jesus knows both of you and is there for you. Rest in His arms and do take care of yourself.
Praying!

Ann -Hope you can get the hospice people in after the Dr's next visit. I think you said they will order it then.
I am saying prayers for Danny and for you and yours.
Please send me your address, I seem to have misplaced it.
Love
Lauraleah
