Today's update

Here's how our day went~

Next week, we have to be at the hospital for blood work at 6:30 AM, then chemo at 7 on Wednesday. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, they are trying to get everyone worked in earlier in the week.
We used a hospital wheelchair from the hospital to take Danny over to chemo after his bloodwork today. It's in a connecting building. In fact, a volunteer pushed Danny over to the dr. office for us and said just leave it on the ground floor and someone would collect it later, after we got through with it. I don't know why I didn't just ask before.
The bone scan was clear, so that was a blessing. However, the CT showed some spots on Danny's liver, pancreas, and other lung. Also showed he has gallstones, which is why eating is painful for him. I don't think they're going to try to do anything about that, though, considering his other problems. His back pain is just that..back pain. Like he's had for years anyway. The knot in his pelvic region is part of the cancer, too.
After telling Danny all this, the dr. stepped around and put his arm around Danny's shoulder and gave him a little hug. It was really touching. The oncologist is a good man and has real compassion for his patients.
He told us to get Danny some fruit with lots of juice in it, like oranges, grapes, cantaloupe. So we stopped by Kroger and got tangerines, clementines, grapes, and kiwis. I also picked up a turkey for .49 a pound. I have the Kroger card and that's about all I use it for is specials. Some of the fruit was on special with the card, too. I may send Elizabeth back to get another turkey tomorrow. I won't be using them for TG, but I like having them in the freezer so we can have a good supply of reasonably priced meat. I should have had the butcher saw the turkey in half. I'll see if E will get that done to the next one.

Danny's started drinking coffee again! Making it, too. About one cup in the morning is all he gets down, and a cup at night. Since it's not harmful to him, I'm glad to see him drinking it because that means some of his taste is getting back to normal. He just finished off a big bowl of ice cream, too.
He had lost another 2 pounds since last week so I want him to keep eating all he can stand. So far the chemo hasn't made him sick.

Please, keep praying. The prayers have lifted my own spirits a lot, as well as Danny's. He's also staying up longer during the day, now. But keep praying for us to be able to get Danny's meds he needs. Money has run shorter since the gas hikes, and now we're trying to catch up since it's went down a little.

Thanking God for the provision of a wheelchair in the hospital and a volunteer to push it. Also for the compassionate doctor Danny has.

Continuing to pray for strength for you both.

Ann, I hadn't checked here for a bit as when I had before, there was nothing new, so I'm glad to see you posting again. I wanted to know how things were going. Just know that I think of you often and pray for you and Danny.
