Thursday stuff

I'm including a picture of us that was taken at Thanksgiving at my grown daughter's house. When you look at it, then at the picture at the right that I posted before, you can see a huge difference in Danny's appearance.

Yes, it was a busy day today. We got up early, woke Elizabeth up, got ready and headed to town. Elizabeth went because she needed to be at work at 9:15 and Danny's appointment was for 8:30, with blood work before that.

Anyway, they weighed him and he's lost 7 pounds since last week. That makes a total of about 35 pounds he's lost so far. The blood work showed low potassium levels, so they wound up putting him on an IV with potassium. That took an hour and a half, so I took Elizabeth on to work while he was doing that.

After he was finished, we went to the drugstore and got his scrips filled except for the new morphine scrip. It had been less than 30 days since the previous one because the dr. had told him to take more, so they ran out sooner. Medicaid didn't want to pay it but the pharmacists said they have a paper they can fax and get an override on it. But, she said it would be 2 or 3 hours to get it all done. So I got what scrips I could and took Danny on home.

I ate a bowl of veggie soup for lunch then headed back out. Went to the PO, then to the bank . Then to town where we actually shop. Went to the bread store for feed bread and people bread, then over to the pharmacy to pick up the morphine. While there I got Danny some .50 DVDs of old TV shows. Got gas in the car and went to McAlister's to get Elizabeth, since it was nearly 2:30 by then, and that's when she got off.

We came home. She ate veggie soup and laid down for awhile since she had to go back and work again tonight. Brandon and I got the feed bread out of the car and stowed it in a feed barrel. We fed the goats and dogs. He had already watered everybody out there. Came in and I ate a PB&J sandwich, laid on the couch and slept until 5:30!

Had to rush and wake Elizabeth up so she could go back to work.

I fixed Danny a can of chicken and rice soup for his supper. He ate all that was left of the chicken noodle that we had in the fridge. Yesterday he ate about a bowl and a half, then finished it off today. Guess I need to fix more of it for him! He ate canned chicken and rice soup for supper.

Brandon didn't work today. He threw up during the night and this morning, so now I guess he's got whatever tummy bug is going around. He's a little better now and eating but not feeling 100% yet.

Praise: Got a phone call from Elizabeth's pastor's wife this evening. She has arranged with some of the men from church to come tow the van to a shop and the men are getting together to get the transmission fixed for us. She said they'd probably come Saturday to get it, but not sure how long it might take. However, it's doing us no good the way it is now so what difference does it really make? lol

Anyway, I was overwhelmed by this very generous offer. It will be so good to have the thing running again. Looks really awful but I don't care what it looks like as long as it will run!

    Thanks for updating your blog.

Praising God that the transmission will soon be worked on. Praying for continued strength for all of you.

How I wish there was more that I could do for you, but do know that many you have never met are praying for you.

    E.
