Thursday morning
He ate a few bites of fruit sauce last night finally. I don't know how today will go. I know that people who are very very sick have no desire for food. It just doesn't appeal to them. And forcing food now may cause him to have digestive problems, too, so I have to let it be his choice. The digestive problems can cause him added pain and his body may not even make good use of the nutrition.
I'm going to see if I can figure a way to put my rocking chair in the room. I can sit in it and crochet or something. Plus, we can sit him in it if we need to move him off the bed for something. It's soft and comfortable.
I played one of his old Merle Haggard tapes for him last night. He seemed to enjoy it and acted like he was listening to it. I asked him if he could hear the music and he nodded yes, and laid there listening. I'm going to see what other tapes he has in his old tape case that he used to enjoy when he was on the road, and play them. I couldn't get the George & Tammy tape to run. It's stuck or something and won't turn. I'll see if he has anymore George Jones tapes.
I tried to give him his morning medicines. He spit them back out. I'll tell the Hospice worker about that. He did drink a sip of water, but that's all so far this morning.

All I can do is cry and pray with you Ann. I am so sorry I cannot do more.
Love,
Michelle
