Putting out fires
I have been working some crazy long hours lately. It seems like, even though I've hired several people, we never really have enough crew on hand to do the job. Probably because some of the new hires don't always come to work when they're supposed to.
So, who fills the gap? Usually, I do. I've worked late closing then turned around and helped to open the next morning. I've opened and wound up working all the way through close. If I say I'm ready for that vacation at the end of the month, that would be an understatement!
The funny thing is that I'm almost afraid to leave. Even on my days off, there are always some kind of dramas going on and fires that need putting out. What's it going to be like with me not easily reached? I really hope my managers get their ducks in a row and take care of things the few days I'll be gone.
