Memorial Day

After several days without rain, we did get rain yesterday and a big downpour last night and early this morning. It figures it would have rained yesterday since I was off work and needed to do laundry! Ah, well. At least the gardens are enjoying the extra rainfall.

We are high enough on a hill that we don't get a lot of soggy ground at our house, except in one flat spot away from the yard. Most of the rain just drains away and down into the water table. The only real problem with all this rain is that my dog does NOT want to go outside in it. When I open the door, she runs up to it then puts on the brakes...lol.

Though today is Memorial Day, we didn't plan a cookout or gathering since both Son and I had to work today. Next weekend will be a family get together at a local park so I'll put together a big batch of baked beans for that and enjoy visiting with family members then. I really hope there isn't any rain then!
