Productive day off - Friday

I was off work Friday. I'm glad. Fridays are notoriously busy and stressful days at work.

Being off gives me an opportunity to get some things accomplished at home. After several days on the job, my house isn't looking so good so I need to set it to rights and get some organizing done in my bedroom.

I've got cuts of round steak thawing and will get it cooking in just a bit. Son worked today and should be home by around 2 pm, so we'll have this for supper. I'm planning to cook the beef in some canned Mexican style tomatoes I have, adding my own banana peppers and herbs to give it some more flavor.

I will also put rice in the steamer along with some veggies to round it all out.

The beauty is that these things can be cooking while I do other things, so I don't have to stand over them and tend them the whole time.

This is also a day when I'll get the laundry caught up. Son started doing some laundry yesterday, on his day off, so there's not as much to do today. I'm hoping the rain will hold off until it's all done, then it can just rain like crazy. We need it!
