Internet shopping and shipping

The news is out that a lot of small post offices are going to be closed soon. I'm sure it has to do with all the internet activity. After all, you can send e-cards to loved ones for every occasion. If your friend lives on the other side of the country, you can send your friend a gift using one of the many shipping options.

I have done my share of internet shopping. It's easy, convenient, and saves my time. Probably the only time I have used the USPS in recent years is to ship things out that I sold on eBay. Even so, there are other shipping options I can use.

I think that probably the small town where I live could be in danger of losing its Post Office, but the larger town about 20 minutes away has a large Federal Building that includes the Post Office, so it will probably be safe...for now.
