Thursday night

It's late at night right now, so it's actually probably Friday. But it doesn't *feel* like Friday until I sleep and wake up again, so I'm just going to say it's still Thursday and be done with it.

Yesterday, the doctor added some medicines to Danny's regimen. He is now on a stronger pain pill, that he's been instructed to put into a small glass of soda (any flavor) and let it dissolve. That way it'll coat his throat and esophagus to relieve the pain there from the radiation treatments. It reminded me of when I was a child and had a sore throat. My Mama would crush an aspirin and stir it into a glass of water for me to drink, for the same reason. It helped. This is helping Danny, but the medicine really is strong and makes him more dizzy and drowsy.

He's been able to drive up till now, so now I'm driving us where ever we need to go. That's ok, but hard to get used to. He's always been The Driver for us in the past.

He is also now taking Zantac twice a day to help with reflux, also caused by the radiation.

It looks like we may finally be getting some assistance starting in October. It's not enough to actually cover all the bills, but I know my God is sending it and that He'll be sending whatever else we need. We'll also start getting help with medical stuff, too. That's a weight off Danny's mind since he's been very concerned about how we'll get by with him not able to work.

God has also been blessing us by allowing me to sell on Ebay to try to fill in the gaps. That, and some contributions from friends and family. See? God's plan is to use people to do His work. Unlike the manna that fell each day, God doesn't just rain down money from heaven. As Christians, one of our missions is to aid those around us especially those of the brethren.

Rom 12:10-13
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
KJV

1 Tim 5:8
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
KJV

Wednesday evening just after supper we sat down and talked to Brandon about everything that's going on with Danny. He understood the cancer, but I don't think he fully comprehended all that the doctors have told us. Now he does. After we talked to him, Danny came in the living room. Brandon and I were still at the table and began to pray. It was a bittersweet time because of our own grief, but also because we know we aren't alone. We prayed and cried together.

We had already talked to our daughter the night before. Right now she's holding things in and I pray she opens up to someone.

Danny had a more difficult day today. Even with the new pain med, he's having pain and at supper had some difficulty swallowing his food. He needs to tell the doctor about that when he goes for radiation tomorrow morning. He's just generally felt bad most of the day today.

I ask God to bless and favor each and every person who's praying for us. Those prayers mean so very much to all of us here.
