Long time, no post
Sorry. I know some of you check in here to see if there's any news. I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated till I logged in here!
Danny went to MS to visit his brothers, sisters, and other relatives and friends. One of his brothers came and got him. He was there about 10 days. His family suffered a death in the family while he was there. It was so sad and we all just hated to hear about it. The man will be sorely missed by all, and he was a fine, stand-up man. A good man. The kind of man the world needs more of. But God chose to call him home to his heavenly reward. I'm sure he had many jewels in his crown.
Anyway, Danny enjoyed his visit over there other than that event. He got to spend a lot of time with his kin. And I'm sure they loved having him there.
He was a bit downcast when he came home - I'm sure the passing of his brother in law was the reason. He's better now. He's eating better again, too. I just fix him whatever he feels like eating. How else can I do it? I want to see him eat well and keep his weight up if at all possible. A person needs a certain amount of body fat for reserves, and for processing some vitamins.
Last week was pretty hectic for us, though, and we were glad for the weekend and some rest.
Tuesday he was scheduled for his first full dose of chemo. He's been having a lot of back and pelvic pain on the right side. So much that he couldn't sit or lie still very long. The doctor found a knot on the front side of his pelvis, and because of the pain, they skipped chemo. He gave him a scrip for morphine tabs - 15 mg time release - to be taken every 12 hours. He said he can also take his other pain meds in between if he needs them, but to be sure and take the morphine as ordered so it would work right. The dr. also ordered a CT scan for Wednesday, and a bone scan for Thursday.
Wednesday, we went to the place where they do CT scans. Part of the hospital but in another building around the corner. He couldn't have anything to eat or drink for 12 hours, although they did allow a little water when we got there. He had to drink barium over about a 2 hour period. Then they took him back to CT and gave him the IV of that stuff that makes other things show up. The CT was from his neck to his pelvis this time.
Thursday, we went to chemo at 8:30 AM and they gave him his pre-meds which includes benadryl. Then we went to the radiology dept. of the hospital to get a shot that would make his bones show up on the bone scan. Went back and finished the chemo. Then back to radiology to have the scan done, which took about 30 minutes. The benadryl had made him very sleepy, but in between times I went to Sonic and got him a cheeseburger and bottled water. He ate that while he was in chemo - ate the whole thing!
We got home around 2:30, at which time Brandon had to go to work. Well, really he was late but he called in and they were ok with it.
We don't know any results from the scans yet. His next chemo appt. is next Thursday so we'll probably find out then.
Just keep praying.

Ann--I was missing your updates here. I am sorry to hear that Danny has more problems and pain relating to those.
You and yours are in my thoughts and prayers.
