Sunday evening

Danny had a bad day today. He barely ate anything for lunch and has been in bed nearly all day. Just a bit ago he got up, ate a little, and now he's gone back to bed.

He's having a lot of pain in his back and legs. It seems that even the morphine and percocet don't help it.

I fixed spaghetti for lunch, which he had requested a couple days ago. I couldn't fix it till there was time plus ingredients. Now he says it's hard to swallow the noodles, even cut up small. He did eat some fresh cooked turnip greens, though. So maybe he got something from that. He needs iron, and the greens do have iron in them.

Yesterday, my two grown sons came over, plus one son's wife. They worked on the van, replacing spark plugs. Also worked some on Brandon's car and got it started. But it seems the flywheel has some teeth missing on the car, so he really needs to get rid of it and get something else. I wish he had kept the little truck. Ugly, but running.

We had a good long visit anyway. #1 son's wife is pregnant, so I'll be a grandma for the 6th time! I was glad for some good news. The baby is due in June.

One of Danny's brothers called today. Danny was asleep so I talked with him. He was just checking to see how we all are, and expressed concern that I wasn't taking care of myself. I'm doing all I can to do that. If I don't take care of myself, I can't take care of Danny. I eat right, take vitamins, and try to rest when I can. I go outside and feed the goats or pick stuff to get exercise and fresh air.

I'm going to try to get Danny outside tomorrow to pick peppers. They are his gardening pride and joy. He needs to go out and do a little. Resting is good for him but I believe too much time in bed just makes it harder for him to move about when he's up. I believe it inhibits his circulation, too, which can't be good.

I dread what the CT and bone scans tell the doctor. We need to know, of course, and so does the doctor so he'll have a better idea how to help Danny. Yet, I dread it.
