Tuesday afternoon
I'm doing a bit better today. I guess life's just a roller coaster, huh?
Bad news: All my goats have died. I don't know why. Something went through them and they're all gone now. I hate it, but I'm not getting more. Maybe it was meant to be. While I miss them, I'm not broken-hearted over the losses. It's time to move into a different stage of my life.
I did something just for me today. I went shopping. Now, those who know me well know that shopping just isn't my favorite pasttime. However, I was needing a few things and decided this was the day to get them. New "unmentionables", for one. But also some new, pretty-colored tee-shirts. Plus, a cute cardigan sweater in a pastel pink. Everything I got except the "unmentionables" was from sales racks, so I got some good bargains. I'm hoping that on the next shopping foray I can pick up a khaki skirt and a straight denim skirt. Those two items will pretty well round out what I need in my wardrobe. Add a pair of off-white pumps and some new hose, and I'll be all set. Of course, if I got a couple of camp shirts they might be a good addition, too, since I could wear them over the tees.
I paid a couple bills while I was out, too, so those particular ones are off my mind now.
Tomorrow, after I take Brandon where he needs to go, I'll go out to the river camp site and spend the rest of the day and evening with Mama. I had intended to stay till Friday morning and just camp with them, but as with so many plans, that got changed.
The other day I got several kinds of garden seeds from a local FreeCycle person. I'm going to sort through them and get some out to share with Mama. I also have a surplus of a particular yarn that I'm going to share with her. It's a pretty blue acrylic and was a gift from Cass' mother.

Here's the deal...awhile back Brandon got a ticket and paid part of it off. He forgot to pay the remaining balance due to Danny being so sick then passing away. Well, the other night he and some friends were hanging around McD's and the city cop ran all their licenses. Brandon's is suspended, there was a bench warrant for him, and he has to go to court this Thursday.
So, now that's the new and exciting plan for Thursday. I just hope all that's needful is to pay a fine and get his license renewed. He may have to go to traffic school, too, though.
It could have been much worse. See, they could have taken Brandon to jail and towed the van. Because a friend of Brandon's interceded with the police for him (explained about Danny's passing, how the van is our only transportation, etc.), they let him come home and let Elizabeth and I go back and pick up the van ourselves.
