Friday update

It wasn't real real busy yesterday. I took Brandon to work then went to my friend's homeschool store to visit her. Stayed about 3 hours there. She said if there are summer school students she may want me to come in and work during summer school. She also has a private Christian school there.

She gave me more books that I haven't had a chance to even look at yet. Need Brandon to bring them in out of the van. They are in totes and are heavy.

Been working on getting geared up for ebay. Doing some more studying on what sells good so I can keep an eye out for bargains in those areas that I can resell and make a few bucks.

Tonight I'll go to the Newcomers Fellowship at church. Made fried rice to take to it. I'll take part of it and leave part of it here for the kids. They love fried rice!

I went outside earlier to see how chilly it is and how wet the raised beds are. It was mild out and the beds seemed well drained. So, I got the cut seed potatoes out, used The Claw to prep dirt, and got them planted. I got about 6 pounds of them planted, which could translate into 60 or more pounds of taters, if they do well.

I notice my oregano is trying to take over the foot path in between the beds out front. If I find anyone who wants some of it, I'll dig it up and give it to them. I can dig it out of the bed, too, since it's so well-established.

I still need to pull the arugula out of the other bed out front. It's bolted and I'd like to work that bed up for other things. If it goes to seed it'll sprout in places where I really don't want it.

I picked up some flower seeds at the Dollar General yesterday. The usual - marigold and zinnias - plus calendula. The petals of calendula are often used in bath teas, soaps, and some lotions. I even sprinkle them in paper when I make it, just for some pretty yellow gold accents.

Otherwise, today's just been a regular day with laundry and dishes..lol.

Brandon's friend William took him to work and I think they'll ride home together. I hope so or it'll sure be hard to get to the fellowship on time tonight at 7. Brandon will probably get off at 6, and I'd have to get him home then go right back to town. Too many trips using expensive gas.
