Monday update

I was actually on the go a lot Sunday. Saturday my tummy was a bit upset. Probably from eating too much rich stuff Friday night at the ladies meeting.

Sunday morning I went to church with Brandon. After church I gave Kevin my application for Arby's. He goes to church there, too, and is an assistant manager at Arby's. Brandon and I went to lunch at McD's, then Brandon left with his friend William.

I went on to Conway to the library to listen to the Fiddlers Association playing in the meeting room. Dylan (my oldest grandson - age 12) played his fiddle. Even sang one song. Jen told me about the meeting and I am glad I went. Dylan has added a lot of songs to his repertoire. It was nice how the older players interacted with the children who played - offered tips and encouragement. There were more than just fiddles there. They played guitars, mandolins, and one played a banjo. Ages ranged from about 4 yrs old to a man in his 80s. Of course, it was mostly all bluegrass with a little Gospel mixed in.

I left there about 2:40 and went to church at Elizabeth's church. One of the visitors sat right in front of me and turned out she was one of the Hospice aides who had taken care of Danny. We thought we recognized each other but didn't know why until we started talking. People don't look the same outside their work clothes sometimes. lol.

After I got home yesterday evening I just lazed about and did not much of anything at all. Brandon and William fixed themselves some fried chicken patties from the freezer and made sandwiches.

I did get the letter from the rehab counselor in yesterday's mail. I need to gather doctor records, then contact her for an appointment before she can really go any further. I can only get copies of my records from the clinic on Tuesdays, and this Tuesday I'll be picking Sassy up from the vet at the time I need to be at the clinic. Always something. Sassy's getting spayed Tuesday while I have the money to get that done. We'll all be a lot better off when that's accomplished.

I went to the bread store today. I had heard they are hiring for a part time clerk. I put in my application and the lady told me they'd need a drug test. Plus, she told me, the work is all on your feet - they only sit down to eat lunch. I should have said something right then, but came home still considering the job. A few minutes ago she called and said I have the job and I can get a drug test. I hated it, but I had to tell her after consideration that I'd have to decline. I explained that I am on pain meds for chronic pain and that I don't really think I can stay on my feet for all those hours. That it would be better to call the next person instead of hiring me, paying for a drug screen, only to find out I can't do the work and then have to start the process all over again.

Which leads me to wonder if I can work at Arby's, or indeed anyplace at all. How do I do this? What can I do? I have GOT to get my medical reports together and go from there, I guess. Keep me in your prayers if you think about it.

Dear Ann, you are in my prayers. I am praying that you find something that you can do that does not require so many hours on your feet.
