New Homeschool Blog and Other News
My new blog is primarily for those who are interested in homeschooling. While we can talk about that here, the new one also points you to Christian homeschooling, "The Plain Book of Homeschooling", and occasional tips and hints for keeping your budget intact while you homeschool. You can go here to read what's there so far. I also have a link to it in the sidebar so you can find it again later.
As for me, I've been working all the hours I can at Arby's. I don't know if even that will be enough to keep bills paid, but I'm going to keep at it as long as I can. I don't have a lot of time for posting here, answering emails, or doing much of anything else. Haven't even picked up yarn in a couple of months, and I really miss crocheting, working on the knitting board, and weaving.
My gardens are growing well, but so are the weeds and grass! We've had tons of rain lately so I haven't been able to get out and take care of things since it seems to always rain on my day off. I'll be off tomorrow and I'm hoping maybe it won't rain and I can get some outside chores done.
I'm picking salad greens and radishes and green onions now, so we have delicious fresh salads with our meal. Soon, sugar snap peas and green beans will be ready to pick. Tomatoes and peppers are really coming along well. All the peppers and squash are also doing well. Still don't have cucumbers planted so I'm thinking I'll need to get plants instead of seeds at this late date. Well, late for this part of the country anyway.
Potatoes are doing well, too, as is okra. I can hardly wait till we can start partaking of these things and the others I mentioned.
My oldest son's wife is expecting a baby girl in July, so I want to start making or finding things for this new grandbaby. This will be 6 for me, plus my daughter-in-law's daughter from a previous marriage...so 7! I'm glad for the new life that's coming into the family. It's a blessing from God.
