It's clean!
We worked hard on the house Saturday afternoon, and now it's pretty well set to rights. We swept and tossed and did laundry and did dishes. It all looks more like normal now.
Lately, it seems like the house has just gone downhill. We've let a lot of chores slide and we really don't need to be doing that. It makes coming home, well, not pleasant. I've always tried to make the house a haven from the world. But when it's messy, it's just plain nerve racking and I don't like it at all.
It's inconvenient, too, since things aren't where they're supposed to be and we can't always find what we're looking for. There's something peaceful about a tidy house.
It's harder now to keep things in good order around here. Long work hours make us both very tired, especially me. I'm no spring chicken, you know! But I've got to put out the extra effort so this will still be "home" and not just a landing zone for the times in between working.
