I see those letters on my online banking a lot and I know they stand for Point of Sale. They appear because I've used my debit card somewhere.
I didn't know, though, that anyone - even the small business person - could easily afford the technology to allow the use of cards and to scan the UPCs of the items they are selling to input the price.
