Tired of working away
I finally got to work at my "home" store yesterday. I opened and wound up being there about 9 1/2 hours! Yeah, I was worn completely out by the time I came home. So much so, that fell asleep on the couch for hours and didn't wake up until well after dark, even though I'd gotten home around 3 PM.
Still, it was nice to be in my regular store with my regular crew. Tonight, though, I have to again go to the other store in another city and close there. I really hope we can get out of there in an hour, like we're supposed to. One way or another, I'm going to make that happen.
The driving there and back does get old and tiring, though. I'm beginning to think I need to get a yoga dvd and practice that for better stamina for work. You'd think by now I could race through a shift with no problem. Maybe it's my age showing, but by the end of a shift I am beyond ready to get back home again.

Ann, I understand you feeling "beyond ready to come home" at the end of your shift. I feel that way a lot of the time, and I work "regular" hours at a desk job, get weekends off, and am younger than you. I don't know how you do it - work on your feet, for long hours, on different shifts. That was tiring when I did it in my twenties. I don't know how I'd do it now, but I guess we do what we have to do to get by, eh?

Yes, we do what we have to do for sure. Maybe eventually I'll be able to do less on my feet, but for now, this is how it goes.
