Memorial Day get together
We had a fun Memorial Day. Older Daughter arrived early in the afternoon with her three children. They came bearing musical instruments. Oldest Grandson is an accomplished musician with the guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and fiddle. He entertained us with a wide variety of musical choices and can play almost any Bluegrass tune you request. Granddaughter brought a music CD with her and sang a song that she's going to sing in a talent show. She has a lovely voice. The youngest of the three plays soccer and video games. While he didn't entertain us with a show, he did entertain us with his own sense of humor. They had to leave before the cooking commenced so Daughter could fix supper for her husband when he got home from work at 7.
Oldest Son and his family arrived while Older Daughter was still here. Soon after came Younger Daughter. She thought Boyfriend wouldn't make it, but he eventually did.
I built the fire in the cooker and the guys did the cooking. We had burgers, brats, and salmon fillet on the grill. Inside, we made a sort of kabob casserole, since skewers were nowhere to be found at the store. Younger Daughter brought a delicious, fat free dessert and sweet potato casserole. I purchased macaroni salad and potato salad, and canned baked beans. I just really didn't have time to prepare that stuff due to work Sunday.
We had more than enough food. Family members took some of it home, but there's still enough left for a couple more meals for Son and I.
It was a lot of fun and I'll be doing this again!
