Setting the house to rights
I've got two days off in a row, so I'll use this first day for general housecleaning. With the hours I've worked lately, the house has fallen into dirtiness mode for certain! I've started downstairs, with the living room and kitchen, getting the floors clean and the surfaces dusted. I'll light a couple of fragrance candles to freshen it up a bit in here, then start on my bedroom and bathroom.
Later, I'll head upstairs to the room that has all my craft stuff in it. From time to time, friends of Son will spend the night and they wind up sleeping in that room. They aren't very tidy and I've told Son to please have them clean up after themselves. They aren't young children and that's not too much to ask, I think.
I've got a duster that's on a telescoping wand, so I'll hit the beams and other high places with it. I cleaned the windows last week, so I don't have that to deal with today. But I have noticed some "dust bunnies" in various locations so it's time for them to go.
These are actually the kind of days I treasure. I have quiet times, get some cleaning done, write a little, and even have some time to indulge in a craft or two.
