Sunday, 9/18

It's Sunday night now. We've had a busy end-of-the-week. Company arrived from MS (Danny's family) on Friday. We had a good visit with them and since they got a motel room in town, they promised to come back out on Saturday.

Fairly early Saturday morning, other members of Danny's family showed up - not the ones who had come Friday. We weren't expecting them, but were glad to see them. We visited with them awhile, then the first bunch showed up. We had a full day of visiting! I couldn't get them to eat lunch with us so we just waited until they left.

They had also brought along some Western movies, sent from one of Danny's sisters. Danny watched a couple of those today and is looking forward to watching more of them.

Later in the evening, my two grown sons, and the one son's children came by for a few minutes. I was glad to see them all, but Danny and I were both already tired from the day so they decided not to stay long.

We rested a bit then went to Walmart to pick up a few needful items. Yes. At night. After a full day of visitors. We went to Walmart. Nuts, huh?

This morning, we went to church and visited at one where I'd visited a few weeks ago. I really like it and I think Danny did, too. Wish they had cushions on the pews, but the main thing is that the preaching is really good, right from the Word, and no "soft shoe, make ya feel good" stuff. Just truth. They prayed over and anointed a handkerchief with oil for Danny to put under his pillow.

[Acts 19:11-12
And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.
KJV]

After church, we wound up going to the buffalo farm to eat lunch. They'll close in October and won't open again till May. As we ate, I wondered to myself if we'd get to eat there together again next spring. Or ever again.
