Children's personalized gifts

Now would probably be a good time to start Christmas shopping. I could get some things here and there and store them for the Big Day. I'm thinking about my grandkids, of course, when I say that. Sometimes I have a hard time figuring out what they'd like.

I do know that younger children love to receive things with their name on it. A postcard or a letter addressed to them gives them a big thrill. I suppose it makes them feel all grown up to get a letter. Kids also like other things with their name on it. Pencils, notepads, and other little items are big winners. At the top of that list, though, would be a personalized children's book. Young children get pretty excited when they read a story that includes their own name in it along with names of other family members, pets, or friends. They feel as if the story really is about them.

Personalized items really make good gifts for children of all ages, I think. That's why I need to start now, with list in hand, finding some really unique things I can give my own grandkids. I could get one thing each payday and it wouldn't cut into my budget too much. By the time Christmas rolls around, all my shopping will be done!
