Granddaughter's birthday
It's been a fairly busy weekend, between work and my granddaughter's birthday. Of course, the birthday party was the most fun!
Oldest Son held it at his house Sunday afternoon, and didn't start it until I got off work and arrived at his house. He had checked with me to see when I worked and what time I could be there so he could make his plans.
When I got there, his sons and the birthday girl were splashing in the pool in their back yard. He just got it recently with his stimulus check so the whole family could have a place to play and cool off. It's in an enclosed area of the yard so the 2 year old can't get in there without supervision.
Son cooked burgers and smoked sausages on the grill and we ate at the picnic table. Of course, I held the new baby most of the time. Who can resist a new baby?
Then we went inside so granddaughter (the 2 year old) could open her gifts. She got lots of Dora the Explorer stuff, which absolutely thrilled her. Then we had cake and ice cream. Two year old ate with her hands and would say "cold!" every time she picked up a pinch of ice cream to eat it.
Even though I had worked a full shift before the party, I felt relaxed and refreshed afterward. There's something about having family time that does that for me.
