Holidays off

I hope you all have a great Independence Day tomorrow. Remember why we celebrate this patriotic holiday while you're chowing down on barbecue and watching the amazing fireworks displays.

I tried very hard to have the day off so we could have a family cookout, but with the management change (meaning I'm the new manager and the other manager has been transferred to another store), plus losing a second manager to another store, there just wasn't any way I could be off. Someone has to work. Every manager there requested off for tomorrow, plus quite a few crew members. However, they aren't all getting the day off because someone has to stay and operate business as usual. So, I denied the remaining managers the day off since there are now only three of us left. I gave them good hours to work so they don't have to be there all day tomorrow and they won't have to miss any fireworks displays tomorrow night.

According to sales history, today and tomorrow will be two very busy days for our store. This is why we need managers available plus plenty of crew members on the job. Taking care of customers is our first order of business. It's nice to be off on every holiday, but it just isn't going to happen like that for anyone.
