Branson

Both my daughter and my Sis have visited Branson a number of times, and just raved about how much fun they had shopping at the outlet malls and seeing the shows there. I'm still waiting my turn, I guess, but I know that's where I want to go for a vacation!

It's an easy drive from where I live, so I'm hoping that later in the year, when the big shopping and burger days are past, I can take several days of vacation and head up there. Maybe the timing will be right so that I can join family members up there, too. I don't want to go alone!

I'd like to see shows like Bill Medley with Paul Revere and the Raiders. I remember listening to the Raiders on the radio when I was a teenager. It seems like it would be a lot of fun to see them in person. I might even want to see the Dueling Elvis contest, since a man who works for us also does Elvis impersonations and takes part in Salute to the King out in Vegas every year. He's won it a few times! He's an interesting guy who is also a chef at one of the finer hotels in our capitol city. I'm going to ask him, next time he's at work, if he's ever taken part in the Dueling Elvis shows in Branson.

Besides the shows, there are fascinating museums to visit, and there's Silver Dollar City. Who can't have fun there?!

Of course, when I get there I'll need a place to stay. If I don't go with Sis, then I will need to make reservations at one of the hotels or maybe rent a fully furnished cabin for my stay there. If I were a "couple", I'd be able to get a package deal for as low as $423. That deal includes three days and two nights at the Welk Resort, along with some impressive coupons and gift cards for dining and shopping.

Maybe I should be on the lookout for a boyfriend?

Families can get a good deal on a package for two adults and two children that includes four days and three nights at the Presidential Condo, along with riding the Ducks and a couple of fun, family shows.

By the time I get to go to Branson, I could get a fantastic Fall Special. That might be the best bet for me. It's only $280 per couple and includes three days and two nights Deluxe Lodging, plus shows (Hamner Barber and Baldknobbers), dinner certificate, and a huge shopping coupon book.
