Home today

I've got an actual day off today. I haven't gotten much done but resting, but I'll be heading back downstairs in a little while to set the house back in order. Things get pretty out of place when I've had several long days at work. By the time I get home, I'm too tired to do very much here.

I've got some trash to burn, and that should be ok since it rained hard last night. The ground is very wet, so the fire will be safe to start. We had several dry days in a row which meant dry ground and dry grass. Not a good situation for burning. Oldest Son will be bringing me a new burn barrel soon. I'm also going to invest in a couple of other trash cans for aluminum, glass, and steel (most canned foods are in steel cans) so I can sort the trash before I burn it. The other things are recyclable. Well, paper and some plastic are, too, but we don't have a facility for those around here yet. I'm not even sure about the glass. Younger Daughter takes the aluminum and steel, though, and she and her boyfriend sell those to the recycling places.

I hope to finish the window pane glass painting today, too, and get started on the glass painting for my bedroom windows. It's nice to have some freedom to decorate in this way.
