Taking care of business

I've begun getting some real cleaning done at the store. (I should have this much ambition at home!) There are a few areas that have been neglected since the store opened early this spring and I'd like to see them taken care of on a regular basis so that we don't have to dig in and spend hours cleaning later on.

Since our location is right at the front of the discount store, we are in full view of every customer that walks through the front doors. Unlike the older stores, where our restaurants were way in the back, at nearly the Outer Banks of the location, we are front and center now which means putting on a "good face" constantly.

For instance, there are metal awnings near the ceiling on the outside edge of the store. Those had gotten very dusty, so I got a cleaning tool we could use to get them shiny again. One of the crew took the trouble to make sure they were all done beautifully, and they look like brand new again. I'm very pleased with them, and with this man's work in other areas of the store.

I'll be making sure the cleaning schedule is adhered to, as well, since it really doesn't take long to get the tasks done if people just put out a little effort. I have done them all myself, each day, in under an hour.
