Off the grid?

I sit here - at almost 10 P.M. Friday night - still without electricity. The power went off at around 1 P.M. today. On my way home from Town, I saw some power company trucks on the road here and there but so far no power has been restored. I certainly hope it is soon!

I'll turn in soon since I have to be up early enough to be at work by 4:30 A.M.

Why is it easier to fall asleep when I turn the lights off than when it's dark because the power is off?

I have a couple of coal oil lamps lit. I also have a full charge on the big flashlight of Son's. For some reason, a few days ago, I plugged it into the charger. I'm glad I did, now!

I have plenty of drinking water and the rain water I caught will do for flushing the potty. Showering is out, of course, so I'll probably just take a "bird bath" in the morning. I have some leftover coffee from this morning that I'll probably just drink cold in the morning. If there are still a few ice cubes, I'll make it into an iced coffee.

My uniform won't look too tidy tomorrow. I can't iron it!
