Power outage update

This is day 2 of no electricity. Son called the power company and got a recording saying that our power should be restored by midnight, based on our address. I certainly hope so. The weather is hot and sultry - just about more than I can bear. No AC and no running water makes for a very uncomfortable situation.

Son went to a friend's house to take a shower. I'm not a close friend of the person, so I passed, feeling it would be a real imposition. One of our co-workers took his family to a motel for at least tonight. Their power is supposed to be back on by Sunday.

After I got home from work I wound up going back out to my truck and running the AC in it for awhile. Mid-afternoon heat was too much to deal with after having been hot and sweaty at work. See, the AC in our store is now messed up after that storm and there's nothing worse than a hot commercial kitchen on an already hot day.

I'm dating these posts by hand since I'm using Live Writer and won't be uploading them for another day or two, But at least this way, I can keep up with any progress that's made.

Today at work, we had a one day special of regular hamburgers for only .59 each. People were really snapping those up! We had a full crew and it's a good thing since we needed all hands on deck. We stayed super busy from the moment we opened until I left around 12:30. Word from others is that it didn't slow down at all.
