Power restored!

It looks like our power is finally restored. We'd left our number for a message request if it was and they called about an hour ago. Since we were in Town doing laundry, we haven't had a chance to see for ourselves.

The laundry is finished and now Son and I are sitting in a parking lot near our work where there is a good wifi signal, surfing the internet and reading the news online. When we get home, we'll clean out the fridge. There wasn't a lot of food in it besides a few leftovers, so I didn't lose much there.

I checked the deep freezer earlier today and that food was still frozen so it'll be OK. I'm glad of that because I had some nice strawberries in there and didn't want to lose them!

I had to be at work at 4:30 this morning. I was exhausted when I got here, though, because I'd been up and down all night in the heat and hadn't rested well at all. When another manager got to the store, and after a big rush (other people whose power was still off), I was allowed to leave. As much as I need the hours, I also needed the rest and a period of cooling time.

We noticed that the laundra-mat was unusually busy, also due to the widespread power outages. It was pretty well the topic of conversation everywhere I've gone the past few days.

I didn't realize until I read your blogs at 10 p.m. last night (Sunday) that you had such severe weather down that way. Glad the power is back on! I know you were miserable while it was off. Granddaughter said there was damage out her way, but not to her house, though her power is still off as of today. Damage all around Younger Son's home, too, but none to their property. No damage at Older Son's place, though the storm scared the wits out of them.

I think there were a couple of small tornadoes and some ferocious straight-line winds in the neighborhood of 60-70 mph!
