Freeing up space

With the limited space in my small house, I'm trying to come up with ways to use the space available to it's highest potential. So, I'm thinking I need to invest in some inexpensive shelving to place in my room, in the living room, and in the dining area. Shelves would bring more order to those rooms and still give me a good place to store items that are used frequently enough to not be shoved into a closet or under the bed.

Along those lines, I am also thinking I'll add a TV wall mount for my small flat screen TV. Now, it's just sitting on top of the DVD player with speakers around it. If I could get the TV up on the wall, and put the speakers in locations around the room (to take the best advantage of the surround sound), I could free up some space and get the clutter out.

I will probably wait till after Christmas to do a lot of this, but it's been on my mind long enough now that I can see the results with my mind's eye.
