Who's there?
I came home to a big surprise tonight. My bathroom door was closed, and I usually leave it open, and the light was on. It sort of startled me because it seemed like maybe someone was in there. I heard a noise, then called out, "Who's in there?!"
No answer. No more noise.
I stood there a minute, needing very badly to go in after my long drive home. My dog wasn't upset or anything, so I eased the door open and peeked in.
What did I see? A kitten!
Apparently, Son brought the little rascal home sometime after he got off work. It's really small, but seems to be weaned. I've kind of forgotten how small just-weaned kittens are. It's very cute. It's a gray and white, fluffy kitten. A bit shy, but when I picked it up, it snuggled into me so it's been handled. I think it's afraid because of a ride in a car then being left in my bathroom.
We'd been wanting a new kitten for awhile. I miss having a cat in the house. Our old cat died last year at age 15 and we miss her a lot.
I'll need to get cat stuff now - a litter box, kitten food, toys - and teach my dog that the toys are the cat's, and the cat's not a toy. I think Sassy will get used to the kitten very soon. She's been around them before and the worst thing that ever happened was that she wouldn't go potty when the kittens were "mauling" her outside..lol. She never has bitten one, though. I think she knows they are babies.
