Calm cool day off

I've spent most of the day today cleaning house and tossing refrigerated stuff out. I'm glad that I didn't have a whole lot of stuff in the fridge that needed to be discarded. I had just recently cleaned it so pretty much all that was in there was a few leftovers from last Thursday's supper and other things that actually will hold up OK without refrigeration.

I didn't actually do much housework while the power was off. It seemed like just walking around in the house was too much in the heat. Today, with the AC on, I was able to get caught up, though.

Yesterday, Son and I did laundry in Town. The laudra-mat was crowded because of the power outage, of course. Since we weren't sure just when electricity would be restored it seemed wiser to spend a few bucks to get Mt. Laundrymore tamed than to wait any longer.

The restaurant where I work was also extremely busy because of people without power needing something to eat. I noticed that other fast food places had a lot of customers, too. Unusual for a Sunday morning and afternoon but not completely unexpected because of circumstances.

The weather today has been partly cloudy and the temperature has gone up into the 90s. I'm glad the power is on so we don't have to suffer through another day without the AC! The forecast is for temperatures in the mid 90s for the rest of the week.
