Not nailed down
Is there anything that people won't steal? Just recently, a crew person put two of our cardboard displays out of the way so the sign pole could be painted. We had to wait for the pole to dry before the displays could be put back. Lo, and behold, some dufus stole the displays!
These were not free, you know, and I can't imagine anyone who would need something that looks like a five foot tall iced coffee, but they took both of them!
Note to thieves: It's not yours! And you have no use for it!

They don't need it? Oh, any teen and many 20-somethings would die for something like that.
Hint to you: if the displays are going to be thrown away at the end, sell those suckers!

You're probably right. I imagine it was teens that took them but they cost our store about $80! Boo!

When I worked at a movie theater years ago, we had to be very careful to guard the "standees" (cardboard movie displays) and the posters. People would rip the locked covers off of the movie poster frames to get at the posters, and they would pick up the standees and take them with them when they left. There was more than one occasion when an usher asked someone to remove the standees from their cars before they left! And many other times when they caught the people before they actually were able to leave the building. Crazy!

If nothing else, those kinds of things can be sold on eBay!
