Quiet Tuesday

I have spent today doing this and that. I went outside and picked a kitchen trash bag full of poke salet. Of course, like all greens, it cooked down to about 3 quarts for the freezer. In a few days I'll pick more and freeze it, too.
I also got some of the tender stems, chopped them into 1/2 inch pieces, prepared them like poke salet, and froze them in single layers on two cookie sheets. These will be used later like fried okra. When they're frozen, I'll pack them into pint freezer bags. Freezing them this way should keep them loose enough that I can bread them for frying.
I've developed a bad cough. Probably from whatever crud it is that everyone else seems to be getting. I feel OK until I start coughing, then it seems to drain me. Maybe it's just my normal bronchitis. Anyway, I drank a couple of cups of chocolate mint tea earlier and it seemed to relieve the coughing quite a bit. I've got enough tea left to drink before I got to bed so it will help me relax and sleep.
I open in the morning, which means getting up by 3:45, getting ready, and being at work by 4:30. Not my favorite shift since I rarely sleep well at night.
